Ivan Ortola (Angeluss MTA Team) got the perfect start to the Monster British Grand Prix during Friday's P1, jumping up to the top spot in the closing stages with a solid 2:12.817. It was Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) who got the closest to the MTA rider, just 0.010s away in P2, with his title rival Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) another 0.012s in P3.
Stefano Nepa (Angeluss MTA Team) threatened the top spots to finish the session in P4 with the Brazilian Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets MSI) rounding out the top 5. Romano Fenati (Rivacold Snipers Team) went top early on and finished Practice 1 in P6 ahead of the Championship leader Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) who was 0.876s off the pace in 7th.
